If you are one of those people who finish a series and are already begging on the Netflix page for the second season to be released soon or at least some details and surprises, today's text is for you.

In 2022 we had the launch of the long-awaited series Wednesday, which told the story of the character of the same name and who was already a very striking figure for people, since she is an original character from “The Addams Family” and who has always been very successful, having live actions and animated films.

But despite expecting a certain success for this, it is possible that neither Netflix, nor the actors nor the creators expected the series to be as big a hit as it was and that it won the hearts of not only adults but also children and teenagers who did not yet know this iconic character.

The series became an instant hit, dominating the platform for weeks and a few months after its launch, Netflix released a statement estimating that 150 million homes had watched the series, surpassing 1 billion hours watched of the series.

The series was even nominated for 2 Golden Globes, one of them for “best comedy or musical series” and “best actress in a comedy or musical series” for its protagonist Jenna Ortega and was also nominated for 2 BAFTA Awards, an extremely prestigious award in the United Kingdom.

So even though the series doesn't follow the same format as many series that please the public and win awards, it was enough to capture the public's attention and also make critics take their hats off.

In fact, the series managed to go viral on TikTok with a dance that the main character does in one of the episodes, which made the series shine and enchant the audience even more.

And the series was renewed for a second season shortly after the premiere of the acclaimed first season and many fans are speculating about what's in store for the next season.

And today we will talk a little more about this beloved series and what we can expect from the next season and everything we know about the premiere forecast and details.

What is Wandinha's story?

As mentioned above, the series is based on the characters already known to the public “The Addams Family” which is made up of a family that is seen by society as the “mistakes” of society, as they are a little more eccentric.

Wednesday is the daughter of the couple, Morticia and Gomez Addams, and the series focuses on her trying to solve a mystery. There is a series of supernatural murders happening around the city and the girl will not rest until she solves the mystery.

In the series we can also explore more of Wandinha's adolescence and her life at school, studying at Nevermore Academy and we also see the character's maturation process alongside her parents.

As the story progresses, she discovers that something supernatural also involved her parents 25 years ago and tries to unravel everything that happened while dealing with her cold and calculating personality and meeting new people and friends.

What can we expect from season 2 of Wednesday?

And now that you know a little more about the series' story, you can run to Netflix and start watching the series now, as its 8 episodes are already available.

And for those of you who have already watched all the episodes and are dying to know what's coming next, we've gathered everything we know here for you. And of course, there will be spoilers from here on out, so if you haven't watched it yet, stop here.

Wednesday Season 2 | Director Weems

Another thing that the producers and creators have promised will be explored in the next season is the death of Principal Weems, which is widely speculated to not have happened and that the character may be alive.

In an interview, actress Gwendoline Christie, who plays the director, said she didn't think her character would be taken by something as simple as death, implying that the character was still alive.

Another thing that made fans believe that she might be alive is that the actress attended all of the series' promotions (even outside the United States, including Comic Con in Brazil) and this wouldn't make much sense if the character wasn't back.

Wandinha's stalker

In the first season we saw that Wandinha began to be persecuted and receive threats from a stalker who has not yet been revealed.

The character received a cell phone from her acquaintance Xavier in the last episodes of the season (before the school closed and she returned to the Addams house) and it is there that she begins to receive threats and discovers that someone is watching her.

In the second season we will discover who this mysterious stalker is and many things can happen from this revelation.

Wednesday Season 2 | Lady Gaga

This is not something confirmed, but it is a rumor that has been circulating for some time and that we will only have confirmation when the series is closer to its premiere.

There are rumors that Lady Gaga is negotiating a guest appearance on the series, in the storyline that will tell the story of Little Hand, one of the most iconic characters in the series and best known to the public. Is that true? Would you approve of this more than special guest appearance?

Mother and daughter

Another thing that the series' showrunners promise to be explored further in the next season of the series is Wednesday's relationship with her mother, Morticia.

Although the characters have a close relationship, many people missed a greater connection between the two and the producers have already said that they are in the plans for the next season.

When does season 2 of Wandinha premiere?

Although we still don't have an official release date for the long-awaited second season, many rumors suggest that the new batch of episodes will arrive in 2024.

Filming is scheduled to begin between July and September of this year and the premiere will probably take place in the second half of 2024, perhaps in the months or weeks leading up to Halloween.
