What is the story of Elite?

Elite is a Spanish teen drama series set in the private school Las Encinas, where students from different social backgrounds meet. 

Three students from a public school receive scholarships to study at Las Encinas after an earthquake destroys their old school. Samuel, Nadia and Christian, representatives of a less privileged social class (much less), enter the elitist institution, generating conflict and tension.

The series' plot is marked by surprising twists and turns and a mysterious murder that is shown in the first episode and is only revealed in the last episode of each season.

Rivalries, secrets and forbidden passions further complicate the scenario, as the students face social pressures, the consequences of their choices and the search for the truth.

The main characters, such as Carla, Lucrecia and Polo, are complex and engaging, oscillating between the desire to protect their secrets and the search for justice. Elite addresses the issues of social class, competition and friendship in the context of a teenage drama.

The series has garnered a loyal fan base due to its captivating storytelling and exploration of the complexities of youth, regardless of their background. Elite offers an intriguing look at the pressures young people face and how choices can shape their destinies, all set against a backdrop of mystery and drama.

There are Brazilians in Elite on Netflix

In addition to the story that captivated many people, another strong point that managed to captivate the public is the cast of the series that has actors and actresses who are good and at the same time charismatic and managed to engage the series on social media.

In fact, the series' official Instagram account has more than 6 million followers and some cast members such as Estér Exposito and Danna Paola have more than 25 million followers.

In addition to the majority Spanish cast, in the fifth season of the series, Brazilian actor André Lamoglia joined the cast of the series playing the character Ivan Carvalho, who became one of the public's favorites.

André is also Brazilian in the series and communicates with his father (played by Carloto Cotta) in Portuguese, but with the rest of the cast he speaks perfect Spanish. 

In the seventh season, which premiered today (10/20) on the platform, another Brazilian is in the cast and it is none other than Anitta, one of the biggest public figures in Brazil and with a gigantic 65 million followers (becoming the most followed actress in the series).

Anitta plays a combat and self-defense teacher named Jéssica and not much is known about the character, since due to the writers' strike, no actor in the series can promote her, but there will certainly be no shortage of mysteries involving the character.

Now we will tell you a little more about the new season of the series, so if you haven't watched the series yet, it's best to skip this part, as it will contain spoilers from previous seasons.

In the new season, we see the return of Omar and we see his routine as he enters university, but the guilt over Samuel's death (which happened at the end of the fifth season) still eats away at the boy.

Omar's suffering makes him seek help and he starts therapy, which makes him get closer to Las Encinas and face his new traumas and also due to an internship he gets at school.

In his new job, Omar realizes that he is not the only one who has traumas and problems and that many others are dealing with more than he can imagine.

In this new season we also have new faces and new stories to be told.

There's more Elite coming

With the release of the seventh season of the series, Netflix also announced the renewal of the series for the eighth and final season, making it one of the series with the most seasons on the channel and ending after 64 episodes.

The new season still has no release date and will depend a lot on the outcome of the actors' strike that has been going on for a few months, but it is likely that the new season will arrive in the last quarter of 2024 or in the first quarter of 2025.

There are still no confirmed names in the cast for the next season, but most of the cast will probably return for the final season of the series.

However, it has already been confirmed that Anitta will not return for the eighth season. In an interview with Blogueirinha, Anitta confirmed that she was invited to return for the eighth season, but her schedule did not allow it, as she has a new film to film in 2024 and also her commitments involving music.
