According to a survey by Serasa, 69.43 million people entered 2023 in default.

The good news is that some of these people will have the opportunity to negotiate their debts very easily and at a discount?

Want to know how? Giving you a spoiler, it's with the help of Desenrola Brazil Program, the new federal government program.

To learn more details about it and find out how to participate, continue reading until the end.

How does the Desenrola Brasil Program work?

With this program, you will be able to unwind and throw your debts to the “side”.

It is intended for Brazilians with small debts, that is, up to R$1,04,500.

One of the main characteristics is that its operation depends on the adhesion of creditors, given that the debts are private.

Therefore, to pay off your debt with a high discount and installments that fit your budget, it is essential that the company you owe money to participates in the Desenrola Brasil Program.

Furthermore, the percentage of the discount will depend on the creditors, but the federal government believes that it will be possible to negotiate with great discounts.

Since creditor companies will have a guarantee from the National Treasury if the debtor is unable to pay the debt.

This guarantee will encourage lenders to join the program and also offer considerable discounts to consumers.

The government has categorized debts into three categories, with categories 1 and 2 being the main ones. Its operation will be similar to a name-clearing fair, but in the form of an auction. The idea is that several debts will be renegotiated at the same time.

The company that offers the biggest discounts will be eligible to participate in the program and receive the benefits.

The list of companies that will participate in the Desenrola Brasil Program has not yet been released, however, the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, has already announced that Banco do Brasil will participate.

Furthermore, the president of Febraban praised the initiative and reinforced the banks’ responsibility to participate.

Ultimately, the federal government's plan is for companies from different sectors to participate in the programs, mainly in retail, where most Brazilians accumulate their debts.

How will debts be paid in the Desenrola Brasil Program?

The agreed amount can be paid in cash or financed over up to 60 months. Payment can be made via direct debit, bank slip or Pix.

Those who choose to pay in installments will pay an interest rate of 1.99% per month, but will have up to 30 days to pay the first installment.

The cash payment is made through a platform, and then the amount is transferred to the creditor companies.

Who can renegotiate their debts under the program?

As already mentioned, to participate in the program the debtor must have debts of a maximum of R$$5 thousand.

Other than that, they must not receive more than 2 minimum wages (in the case of debtors with debts in band 1) or be registered with CadÚnico.

This confirms that the main target audience for the Desenrola Brasil Program will also be families benefiting from Bolsa Família.

It is also important to highlight that debts related to rural credit, real estate financing and which have real guarantees will not be included in band 1.

With the Desenrola Brasil Program You will have the opportunity to get rid of debt and organize your financial life.
