If you are a person who is always looking for something to watch or loves to watch quality productions that can also keep your attention from beginning to end, you will certainly like “The Last Of Us”, which is what we will talk about today.

TV series have always been excellent company for people, as they help us to distract ourselves, laugh, cry, and learn about stories we would never have thought of knowing.

And this has always happened, because TV series have always been there, even though in Brazil the series were not as strong (the Brazilian originals), because we have soap operas that play the role of series, we have always been people who consumed TV series.

What has changed over the last decade is that the number of series available on the market has increased significantly. In the past, there were only TV series on open channels and closed channels, so there was a certain number of series that each channel made available each year, always being renewed (usually in the fall).

But with the emergence of streaming services such as Netflix, HBO Max, Prime Video, Star Plus and Disney Plus, it has become difficult to keep up with all the series that have been released, as these streaming services do not have a calendar for renewal, which means that series can be released at any time of the year and not just at one time.

And with so many series being released, we are often undecided about what to watch and we also don't know if that series that is currently popular is really worth it or not.

And in today's text we will talk about a series that premiered in January 2023 and became an instant success, winning the hearts of the public and also of critics who highly praised the series.

You will discover what the series is about and we will also give you 5 reasons to start your series marathon today.

What is The Last Of Us about?

For those of you who still don't know anything about the series, “The Last Of Us” is a dystopian series produced by HBO (available on HBO Max) based on the games of the same name that were already a huge success among gamers.

In history we see the Earth in a different way, it was devastated by a virus and left humanity almost extinct, leaving few people alive to tell the story.

This epidemic that destroyed humanity turns people into cannibals and it is highly transmissible, being contaminated by just one bite.

A few decades after this tragedy, the few remaining survivors spend their lives traveling in quarantines to try to protect the other survivors and that's when we meet Joel, a man hired by the government to take Ellie to a different zone from the one they live in.

On the way they have to look for rebels who rebelled against the government, but they begin to suspect that Ellie is infected with the virus, although the girl does not show any symptoms.

They begin to suspect that Ellie's immunity to the virus is the key to saving humanity and getting rid of the virus once and for all.

5 reasons to watch The Last Of Us

And now that you know a little more about the series, you're probably curious to watch it, right? But if you're still undecided about whether or not to start watching it, we've listed X reasons to start watching The Last Of Us.

It's an excellent adaptation

If you are one of those people who really like the game, but are afraid of watching the series and realizing that they ruined your favorite game, as happens with many books, you can rest assured, because the adaptation is very good.

Many video games have had their adaptations and fans were disappointed, but that is not the case here. There are several videos on the internet that show scenes from the game alongside scenes from the series and it is almost as if the game has come to life.

The Last of Us Series | The story is amazing

We've already told you a little about the story and it is, in fact, very good and very well constructed since the first episodes.

You've probably seen a plot similar to the series somewhere else, as a future destroyed by infected people has already been seen in several other productions, but what makes all the difference here is the dramatic burden that each character carries and not actually the fight for survival and this makes it stand out among so many other similar productions.

Cast

Have you ever been in a situation where you saw a film or series with an excellent script and direction but the casting choice wasn't so great and that made your experience with the production not so good?

This happens very often, but it doesn't happen in “The Last Of Us”. Here we have a strong cast that manages to deliver everything and more, transmitting to the viewer all the pain that the character carries.

The protagonists are played by the excellent Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, and the cast also includes Murray Bartlett, Storm Reid and Anna Torv.

The Last of Us Series | It's Not Just for Gamers

Many people who see a series that is based on a game are a bit afraid to start the series because they are often afraid that it is something that is made for players and that those who haven't played it might not understand some references.

This doesn't happen here either, as HBO is always very careful with its productions and it is made for the most diverse audiences and the series takes care to create a series that everyone can understand and connect with the characters.

All episodes are now available

The series was released weekly. Every Sunday an episode was released, making up the first season with 10 episodes, and many people don't like to wait for the episodes to be released.

But the series has already finished its first season and all episodes have already been released, ending on March 15th and can be found on HBO Max.

And the second season of the series has already been ordered and is expected to arrive on the channel in 2024.
